We are excited to announce a shift in our content creation strategy. We are moving from our usual digital content creation to accelerating our curriculum development programs.
But why the change?
We want to curate training of trainers (TOT) virtual programs that can be taught as workshops and used in schools, medical centres, professional workspaces, and even personal relationships.
Our main focus will be on two important training programs: Creating Consent Culture and Gender Affirming Care.
Inclusive Gender Affirming Care - research call out.
With feedback from trans and GNC communities, we will develop a research-led training of trainers (TOT) program whose goal is to create access to inclusive services that will better meet the needs of these marginalised groups.
Is this training program for you?
This training program is designed for;
People with a background in facilitation and education with a focus on gender diversity, inclusivity and SRHR.
Workplace trainers who need to train employees and other staff in inclusive and effective ways.
Trainers who are relatable, good communicators, compassionate, empathetic, self-aware, capable of creating safe spaces without overstepping others and their own boundaries.
The program will benefit; the workforce at large, medical professionals and related staff, law enforcement agents and officials working at gender desks across the country.
Duration:
The full course can take 10 hours to complete and will be taught over five days in the course of one month. Upon completion, trainers can teach the workshops in either of these three tiers of delivery;
Gold - A full-day workshop
Silver - A half-day workshop
Bronze - A two-hour workshop.
The course itself will cover;
Trauma-informed gender-affirming care
A glossary of gender and sexual identity terminology
Mental health advocacy
Sexual reproductive health and rights
Cultural competence
Mixed training pedagogical approaches (Constructivism approach, Collaborative approach, Inquiry-based approach, Reflective approach)
Understanding systemic barriers
With that said, this research phase is required to reach as many Trans/GNC folks in Kenya as possible to create a relevant training program and fully immerse in transforming spaces where these communities often experience the most bias.
Please feel free to share this with anyone you think would benefit from this program.
